SCIENTIFIC: Wavellite is an aluminum phosphate hydroxide hydrate mineral that usually forms in hemispherical or globular aggregates of radiating crystals, botryoidal crusts on matrix or occasionally as stalactitic deposits. Wavellite forms as a secondary mineral in crevices of low-grade, aluminous, metaphoric rocks; as well as, in limonite, phosphate rock deposits and sometimes in areas of low temperature hydrothermal veins. Wavellite’s hardness is rated at 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. Wavellite is translucent with a vitreous to resinous or pearly luster. Wavellite is named after William Wavell, the English physician who discovered it. Wavellite is found in various shades of green, ranging from dark rich emerald green to bright green, apple green, and pale green. The more uncommon colors of Wavellite are blue, yellow, brown and black. Wavellite is found in the Czech Republic, France, Brazil, Bolivia, Germany, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Australia, England, Ireland and in the USA – Arkansas, Colorado and Pennsylvania.

ATTRIBUTES:  Wavellite assists one in looking at the overall “bigger picture” before making a decision. Wavellite helps one to manage difficult situations and provides “all around” information to complete a task or come to an informed decision.
