ATTRIBUTES: Lingam is a combination stone, created from
chalcedony, agate, jasper, quartzite, and mineral impurities, and is known for
its characteristic rounded tube-shaped smooth finish. Lingam Stones found in
the Narmada River located in India, are polished and elliptically shaped as the
result of natural river tumbling. Lingam Stones have distinctive banding of red,
maroon, and brown color patterns of iron oxide and other mineral deposits. Lingam
stones are also referred to as Banalinga, Banashivalingas, and Shiva
Lingam. Some speculate Lingam stones are originally from the crash site debris
field of a meteorite approximately 14 million years ago.
Lingams are view upon as a type of sacred stone symbolic of
the powers of Shiva in the Hindu culture. These river stones represent divinity
and have traditionally been used for rituals, in temples, and on altars. As a sacred
river stone, Lingams are thought to have regenerative powers that resonate with
energies representing creation, the flow of time, movement, and purification. Lingam
Stones are wonderful support stones for those interested in offering their
services to others and the community as a whole. Lingam resonates with the vibrations
of gratitude and respect for the physical body and all of its innumerable life supportive,
and self-healing processes. Lingam’s grounding vibrations allow one to connect
with opportunities that come flowing, and sometimes tumbling, onto our path. Lingam
stones with their banded markings remind us of time management accountability. Lingam
Stones offer the opportunity to pause, appreciate and if necessary, evaluate
how we spend the precious energetic resource of our time and attention.
HEALING: Lingam is a wonderful crystal tool for restoring balance
and overall general well-being. Lingam may be used to balance the fluids of the
body, seek relief from back pain, and help with spinal alignment. Lingam may also
be used for reproductive health, menopausal symptoms, fertility issues, and for
prostate health.

In crystal body layouts or healing grids, Shiva
Lingam stones are also known as a stone for "Kundalini" energies and
Tantric practices. Lingam stones are
said to activate and channel the movement of the "Kundalini" energy up
the spine awakening each chakra or energy center on the path towards the crown
chakra. Firing up the feminine energies and arousing the male energies, Lingam
stones are all about the creative energies. Lingam Stones merge the feminine
with the masculine balancing the yin-yang polarities within ourselves and with
others.
For Gaia Healing, Lingam may be placed in an area of disturbed Earth energy to create a sacred space for healing and to connect to the sacredness of all beings.
