Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim
Trekking across the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim had been on my “Yes” list since the minute I stepped off the trail from my previous year’s Rim to Rim adventure. Here it is, just over a year later, and group of us have gathered and collectively committed to the adventure of crisscrossing the Grand Canyon in one GO. Read about the adventure here.....

Feeding the Machine

Feeding the Machine
I have a whole slew of food sensitivity challenges that need to be navigated around on a normal day. Participating and carrying a mandatory number of calories in a self-supported, multi-day stage race in a foreign country, gave me some “food for thought.” How am I going to feed my machine?

Mongolia | Gobi March 250km |Stage One

Gobi March ~ Stage One ~ Wide Open Mongolia. Rolling hills and dirt road trails and nothing but green, green, green, as far as the eyes can see. I wanted to burn the green color into my retinas and memory for all time’s sake. I was surrounded by a landscape of colors ~ luscious verdant green with a slight purple hue due to all the lavender and wildflowers covering the hills.

Mongolia | Gobi March 250km |Stage Two

Mongolia | Gobi March 250km |Stage Two

Gobi March ~ Stage Two ~ The Nomadic Wilderness. The course for day two is filled with more lush green rolling valleys and endless tracks of dirt roads leading to infinity, sprinkled with random gers and herds of livestock.

Mongolia | Gobi March 250km |Stage Three

Mongolia | Gobi March 250km |Stage Three
Gobi March ~ Stage Three ~ From the Mountains to the Dunes. Stage Three started with a single track climb over a rocky pass traversing Monastery ruins, beautiful temples and stupas. And then some alone time in the Mongolia’s Gobi Desert…….

Mongolia | Gobi March 250km |Stage Four ~ The Long March to the Orkhon Valley

Stage 4 ~ The Long March to the Orkhon Valley. Drum roll pleeeeeeeze….the anxiously anticipated day of the Long March began with a later start time of 10am. Initially, the course had us traversing a lot of ups and downs through the stunning steppe landscape of limitless grassy terrain and had us finishing up in a soggy, very tired heap....

Gear Check |Salomon Trail Shoes
I don’t consider myself a shoe girl. I don’t own a bunch of shoes. Why buy shoes when there are crystals… However, I confess that I do own some shoe gear. Laying around my room, and in constant rotation, are my 2 pairs of Asics running shoes and 3 pairs of Salomon Trail Running Shoes.

Grand Canyon Rim to Rim
Spending a day crossing the Grand Canyon: down the South Rim side, across the expanse of the Canyon and up the North Rim side. For 28.3 miles, I was engulfed in the natural beauty of an environment that is calculated to be approximately 6 million years old complimented by the energetic grounding of my moving body, the companionship of great friends, and the rocking vibrational support of THE Grand Canyon.
